Notifying the ATO of Software ID
As an Australian business, you must inform the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) of your payroll software ID to ensure your Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions are correctly linked to your business.
Up until now, it has been possible to lodge STP files without completing this step. However, upcoming changes from the ATO will make it mandatory for all businesses to have this setup in place.
To avoid any disruption, we recommend completing this setup as soon as possible.
To complete this setup, you will need the Software ID (SSID), which can be found by going to Tax > Tax Options in CloudPayroll.
Make sure you have these details on hand before starting the notification process.
Through ATO’s Access Manager (Recommended)
- Go to ATO Access Manager.
- Log in using your myGovID linked to your business’s ABN through Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).
- Click on My hosted software services
4. Select Notify the ATO of your hosted service
5. Search for CloudPayroll on the list and select the abn link
6. Enter your Software ID (SSID) – found under Tax > Tax Options > SSID
7. Select Next
8. Click Save
Call the ATO (if you can't use Access Manager)
You can phone the ATO’s Business line on 13 72 26 and provide the Software ID over the phone. Make sure you are an authorised representative of the business before contacting them.
